We’re going to show you how to get Disney+ on your Samsung TV, making you aware of the limitations you might encounter.
How to Download Disney+ on a Samsung TV
The Disney+ app is available on most Samsung smart TVs from 2016 onwards that use the Tizen operating system.
If your TV is older, or runs on Orsay OS, this means the Disney+ app isn’t supported. You also can’t stream the service through your TV’s web browser. In this instance, skip to the next section for how you can still watch Disney+.
To download the Disney+ app:
Press the Home button on your remote. From the bottom menu, select Apps. In the top-right, select App Search (the magnifying glass icon) and search for Disney+. From the search results, select the Disney+ app. Once the app is installed, select Add to Home if you want to put it on your menu for easy access. Otherwise, select Open. With the Disney+ app open, select either Sign Up Now or Log In. Follow the on-screen instructions, which involve an activation code; you’ll need a computer or mobile for this. On your TV, select Start Streaming.
How to Get Disney+ on a Samsung TV Without the App
If your Samsung TV doesn’t support the Disney+ app, don’t panic. There are still ways that you can watch Disney+ on your TV.
Disney+ supports a range of devices, including streaming sticks like Chromecast, game consoles like the PlayStation 5, and Windows and Mac laptops. As such, you can hook one of these to your Samsung TV (assuming it’s not ancient and has an HDMI port) and stream Disney+ through them.
For more information, see Disney+’s device compatibility page.
Download More Apps to Your Samsung TV
The Disney+ app is just one of many apps that you can install to your Samsung TV. Nearly every streaming service under the sun is available; the big-names you know about and plenty of those you don’t. Explore your TV’s app browser to see what’s available.
